At Platt Peaks we believe in building a partnership.  We learn and grow from each other.  We believe in communication through personalization.  We don't just give you a 20 week program and say good luck.  We look at your history, whether you’re a beginner or an advanced athlete we devise a plan based on past history and ability.  Each plan will be tailored to the individual with their goals in mind.   Your program will be ever changing and will grow as we grow.  Progress is built over time with consistent training, built on a foundation that will challenge you as well as strengthen your mind and body.  We will look at recovery, sleep, strength, nutrition and many other metrics to help you achieve your goals.​

Our Philosophy

At Platt Peaks we believe in growth.  As they say "Rome wasn't built in a day".  Consistency and hard work over time brings results.  Endurance training takes time, sometimes years.  Initially you might see results but overtime it's built on a long foundation.  Everybody responds to different stimulus/ training so we are ever adjusting to find out what best work for you.

We believe in testing you, working hard and breaking through gaps you might be stuck in or didn't think was possible. We will both learn and grow from each other.  Each person is unique therefore one training method might work for someone but not for another.  For a seasoned runner we will look at your past history, try to identify trends and areas for improvement. 

We use Strava as a baseline where we can see your data, it will better inform us for training workouts and prepare.   You do not need to have a paid account we just need to follow each other.  If you use a different platform we can look at that as well.  ex. Garmin, training peaks.

I have become a student of the sport from the beginning and have logged every mile since 6th grade, studying countless programs and organizations.  I have learned that every individual should be trained with their own designed program that suits their abilities and needs.  There is no “perfect” training program or secret workout that will help you excel.  Success is through hard work repeated over a long duration of time.  Have a bad workout, that's just part of training, success is built through duration and foundation.  

Fueling properly has changed tremendously.  We will look at nutrition/ fueling and recovery.  Training hard is great but it's just one of many parts needed to excel. We look at heart rate, your heart rate variability based on your MAX and resting can tell us a lot about how your responding to training.   

Have a crazy work schedule?  We will build a training plan based on your work schedule by planning around it the best we can and adjusting as we go. We use google sheets for scheduling.  We are able to share and both edit giving feedback and immediate updates.
